Job Description

Zenith Innovations, a leading software company based in Islamabad, Pakistan, is seeking a talented Network/Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a Network/Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure and databases. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation of our IT systems and support the growth and success of our innovative projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage and maintain the organization’s network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  2. Monitor network performance and security to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  3. Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  4. Administer and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and integrity.
  5. Plan and execute database backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and downtime.
  6. Collaborate with development and IT teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot database applications and solutions.
  7. Install and configure database software and associated components.
  8. Perform routine network and database maintenance tasks, such as patching, updates, and system optimizations.
  9. Respond to and resolve network and database-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
  10. Document network and database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience as a Network Administrator or Database Administrator.
  3. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and security principles.
  4. Proficiency in database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.
  5. Experience in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale databases and network infrastructures.
  6. Strong understanding of backup and recovery procedures for databases.
  7. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS or Azure.
  8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex network and database issues.
  9. Solid understanding of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  10. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
